June 12: DK records 618 fresh corona cases, Udupi 258; six deaths in twin districts

Mangaluru/Udupi, June 12: Dakshina Kannada on Saturday, June 12 reported 618 fresh coronavirus cases and four deaths, while Udupi reported 258 cases and two death.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 8,92,095 samples have been tested so far, out of which 8,08,784 have turned out to be negative.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 83,311 out of which 7,062 are currently active. The positivity rate of district is 12.92%.


As many as 524 patients were discharged from hospitals on Saturday.

The district recorded four deaths due to coronavirus on Saturday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 976.

With cases steadily increasing, the district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 74,09,617 as fine in 63,140 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 6,33,103 samples have been tested so far.       

As many as 258 new cases were reported on Saturday, taking the total number of cases to 64,054 out of which 3,348 are currently active.

A total of 625 patients were discharged from hospitals on Saturday.

Coronavirus has claimed 356 lives in the district so far, including two on Saturday.

Till now, 3,05,389 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 89,945 have received the second dose

    In DK houses are also mostly independent in nature , with spaces around houses and terrace on top , people these days also do functions in house like religious ceremony and wedding etc , because of Commercial halls restrictions they gather in large numbers, more the 100 n second rushing unnessary out in markets in window time between 6 to 10 some even not bother to wear mask still. Please understand ur social responsibility or we will have to be in lockdown for.much longer time distrubing everything like education, economy , other health services etc

    Nobody else to blame but public. Nobody is serious about the pandemic see the markets in the morning. Upon this congress wants to cut cake and feed each other on the road. Their even planning some padyatra... Please postpone or call off till next week atleast.

    In DK, cases are not coming down.. even in blore there is significant reduction of new cases. If the same trend continues we gonna be in lovkdown state for s really long time.. ppl plz stay inside as much possible.
