Mangaluru, Jun 12: The United Nations is an intergovernmental organization that aims to maintain international peace and security and develop friendly relations among nations.
Walking on the path of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we need a profound transformation in the way we think and act. The knowledge, skills, values and attitudes are all essentials that should be cultivated early in life. To create a more sustainable world, education plays a crucial role in the achievement of sustainable development.
Schools and educators around the world are working to create awareness and shoulder accountability for the United Nations’ Global Goals Agenda 2030. The Yenepoya School and Yenepoya PU college are now part of 'RiseUp4SDG’s : International Project' with educators and students from more than 35 countries which will continue till August 2021.
Here we would proudly want to highlight the fact that The Yenepoya School and Yenepoya PU college is the only school in the state of Karnataka participating in Riseup4SDGs UNO SDG-2021 project.
Students from class 5 to class 10 submitted their masterpieces such as drawing, poster, elocution and write-ups regarding SDG-9: industry, innovation and infrastructure.
21 entries from the school were displayed in the global panel discussion held on May 7. All the educators in charge attended the RiseUp4SDGs conference.
Students from class 2 to 1st PUC submitted their artwork such as drawing, poster, elocution, facemask and write-ups regarding SDG-10: Reducing Inequality within and among countries. l6 entries from The Yenepoya School and Yenepoya PU college were displayed in the global panel discussion held on May 21. All the educators in charge attended the RiseUp4SDGs conference on May 7.
SDG11 is about 'sustainable cities and communities' and is one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015. The SDG 11 is to 'Make cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable'. Students from class 2 to 1st PUC submitted their innovative artwork regarding SDG-11. 20 entries from The Yenepoya School and Yenepoya PU college are added in the SDG-11 Riseup4SDGs newsletter. All the educators in charge attended the RiseUp4SDGs Conference held on May 11.
