Bengaluru: Coronavirus-positive rate down to seven percent

Bengaluru, Jun 7: For the first time after a gap of about two months, coronavirus positivity rate in the state has dropped to about seven percent. New cases have come down to 12,000 Five districts, Bagalkot, Bidar, Mandya, Ramanagara and Yadagiri, registered no deaths of infected persons on Sunday.

On Sunday, 12,209 people in the state got infected while 25,659 were cured. 1.58 lac tests were conducted and new cases came down by 1,291. Several districts recorded less than 300 new cases on Sunday. The positivity rate which stood at 36 percent on April 10 fell to 7.7 percent now. The positivity rate has been showing a declining trend for the last five days and there has been reduction in the number of deaths too.
