Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh distributes grocery kits to needy families

Udupi, Jun 5: Grocery kits were distributed symbolically to more than 30 extremely needy families under the ‘Corona Gellona’ campaign organized by Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh at the office of the organization on Saturday June 5.

Speaking on the occasion, spiritual director of the organization Fr Ferdinand Gonzalves said that the noble need of consoling and helping the needy people under the Corona Gellona campaign by the Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh is really laudable. Let the work continue. The job of helping the families in distress will please God also.

Mary D’Souza, president of the organization said, “Today, kits have been distributed to the extremely needy families of the society. Under the leadership of the Catholic Sabha, grocery kits are distributed to families facing difficulties during lockdown in all the units of the organization under the Udupi diocese. More than 1,000 grocery kits are being distributed and people are also encouraged to get vaccinated. This programme will be held continuously.”

Sanjeeva Vandse collected the kit on behalf of the beneficiaries and took the onus of reaching them to the concerned families.

The chief priest of Udupi zone Fr Charles Menezes, chief secretary of the organization Gregory P K D’Souza, president-designate Santhosh Cornelio, former presidents Allwyn Quadros and Valerian Fernandes were present.
