Mangaluru, Jun 1: Chief whip of Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC), Sudhir Shetty, on Tuesday June 1, alleged that a former mayor and a former MLC created confusion at the primary health center (PHC) at Bejai on Monday May 31.

Addressing a press meet here, he said, "We have witnessed how the state government and the district administration have worked to control the spread of coronavirus. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, and MLAs Vedavyasa Kamath and Dr Y Bharat Shetty have worked immensely to provide the additional ventilators, oxygen-generating unit, oxygen storing tanks through the programme 'Vaidyara Nade Halliya Kade' during the pandemic.

“A task force committee was formed in all the 60 wards of the MCC under the leadership of the MLAs and mayor Premananda Shetty. MPW and ASHA workers along with the corporators distributed medicine kits to Covid-19 patients. We have also seen the MCC distributing ration, medicine and food to those who are alone at home.

“Through the district health center, vaccines are provided twice a week at PHCs. The district administration published this news in the media. A former mayor made several people to gather at the premises of the PHC at Bejai by sharing the details of vaccination on Facebook and WhatsApp. Later, he along with a former MLC, made Congress workers to gather and protest at the premises of the PHC. The district BJP condemns this act.

"Why did you not speak when the state president of your party ridicule the vaccine? In the beginning, your former minister said that let the prime minister take the vaccine first. Later he himself took the vaccine at his home by misusing power.

“BJP condemns the attack on Dr Jayaprakash by Youth Congress activist Asif. Congress has not condemned that attack on the PDO of Mallur gram panchayat. Due to the Prime Minister's special interest, Covishield and Covaxin vaccines were manufactured within 8 months under the concept of Atmanirbhar Bharat. Already 20.9 crore people are vaccinated in the first phase. In the coming two months, vaccines will be provided to everyone.

“The Congress instead of misleading the people and holding a protest in front of the PHC, should join hands with the district administration to contain the spread of Covid-19. Congress should not involve in such cheap politics,” he said.

Administration should start vaccinating people by visiting door to door, exactly the way they do it during election time to secure votes and updating voters list. If this is done , all problems of standing in Q and crowding will be stopped in all PHC and Govt hospitals. Hope our adminstration will find some solutions to ease the present vaccinating Chaos and malpractices.

BJP does not accept their own failures. Instead they blame the opposition or even the dead leaders of the opposition like Nehru, Indira Gandhi etc. BJP party has becomes Bharathiya Jokers Party or Brashta Janara party. It is high time people to know the BJP's real colour now.

O shetre, one question.. how is that about 1000 plus doses available in Mlore in Pvt hospital and less that 300 in PHC??? It's your Govt right from centre to municipality. It's your Govts job to do arrange.. stop blaming others.... I'm done with BJP and your nonesense.... People who still support BJP will soon learn the lesson... Karma is a b..ch, it will come and bite you one day... I will remain alive by God's grace and see the fakirs fall from the throne...

Shetre, stop blaming everything on others. It's a joke that each health centre gets 200 doses whereas private hospitals have more stock. Everyone knows the adjustment that goes on even in health centres where party workers are given more importance than others. This is just absurd that you people cry foul against others despite running one of the most corrupt and horrid Govt. Every little thing will be remembered when next elections come, don't forget. Time changes, it will change.

Its a utter lie that former mayor startd the confusion. I was on the spot yesteeday. I too got a call from many thet there are no tokens at 7 am. Only 200 tokens are given per say in that 150 for public n 50 is distributed for insiders ( this was told by a lady who claimed to be a party worker from kotekani. She also claimed that a bjp pesron who does not do any party work is made incharge. He dictates to all workers what should be done) . Ex mayor n Corp Naveen came at 8 am as several citizens called them. They made efforts to arrange extra doeses but could not.. Is it not fair to demand atleast 1000 doses per primaru health centre. We do not know when will the nxt vacine arrive n at that time if 200 coupond are given. Is it enough... can the chief whip answer this. Do not fool the public. The adminsistration has completely failed its people. All there were heard asking if vacines are availale in private hospitals in plentywhy not available to the poor

Now blame game has started. What they done before, now they started to get back. Visiting flat to flat, house to house and giving vaccine is the best procedure. Why unnecessarily people have to stand in Q from 5am.??? Better to start in each ward at their doorstep ,the problems can be solved.

Many people recommended house to house vaccination but the problem is when they inject glucose or water instead of vaccine, then you blame the government.
