Bengaluru, May 20: Health and Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar.on Thursday said 25 oxygen concentrators will be provided to each district with more number of Covid cases.
Speaking to the media, the Minister said the State has received 800 concentrators recently which will be distributed to districts with more case, especially districts like Hassan, Mandya, Chikkaballapur, Kolar, Chitradurga where lack facilities.
“We are working out to provide more assistance like ICU facility, oxygen etc., in all Medical colleges across the State. I am visiting Tumakuru and Chitradurga and will also visit Davanagere, Haveri, Hubballi and Gadag medical colleges this week to review the situation,’’ he said.
Dr Sudhakar said district administrations and all public representatives will be requested to participate actively in Covid containment activities.
At present, positivity rate in the State is at 27%. "We are aiming to reduce it further by 5%,’’ he said.
IIT Kanpur has provided data bases with research inputs to other countries on Covid projections and the Central government has also advised on this. We are also working on reducing mortality rate, Dr Sudhakar said.
The Chief Minister has decided to provide Rs 50000 advance to all gram panchayats. Village Task Force Committees will utilise this fund to shift Covid patients to Care centres, he said.
The Health Minister said there is no point in hiding the statistics. We are conducting more than 1.25 lakh tests every day. We are working to further increase the number and get the reports within 24 hours, he said.
He also mentioned that treatment is being provided to Mucormycosis patients. It is directed to give medicine according to the condition of the patient. Instructions have been given to monitor those who have recovered from Covid, he added.
