Bengaluru, May 14: Former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy (HDK), in a series of tweets, had accused the centre of meting out step motherly treatment to Karnataka in oxygen supply. MP Tejasvi Surya, has hit back at Kumaraswamy, and advised the latter to have proper information about the reality before giving his responses. Kumaraswamy had said that the Kannadigas have been rendered orphans by the discriminatory policies of the central government as far as meeting the oxygen needs of Karnataka are concerned.
Kumaraswamy had said that even after the high court and Supreme Court ordered the centre to supply 1,200 tonnes of oxygen to Karnataka on a daily basis, the centre supplied only 120 tonnes. He had poignantly questioned whether the Kannadigas are being treated as orphans.
Tejasvi Surya, in his reply, said that the centre has supplied 1,015 tonnes of oxygen to the state and 60 tonnes were specially distributed. He said that 120 metric tonnes of oxygen referred by Kumaraswamy was received through the Oxygen Express train on a single day. He asserted that under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, all the states are being given oxygen in a justifiable manner.
