A very long queue could be seen at Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna railway station at Majestic area here on Sunday morning. The police are finding it hard to see that the workers maintain social distance.
When the Janata curfew was enforced, a large number of workers had headed homeward. Workers particularly from north Karnataka had rushed to their villages by buses, trains and whatever vehicles they could arrange. The workers are scared of facing the ordeal they went through during the last year's lockdown.
At the same time, people came out to stock essentials. People were seen rushing to mutton shops as there is a provision to buy the same till 12 noon in the city. Similarly large crowds were witnessed at the flower market since early morning. Flower shops on both sides of SJP Road saw brisk business and the people buying flowers hardly cared for social distance norms. The police on their part, tried to control the crowd by occasionally wielding their canes.
