Bengaliuru, May 9: A complaint has been registered in HSR Layout police station against a crowd of 60 persons, said to be aides of BJP MLA Satish Reddy, who entered the Covid war room of Bommanahalli zone, tried to assault an IAS officer and other staff, and obstructed the officials from discharging their duty.
Probationary officer, Yashwanth Gurukar, filed the above complaint in HSR Layout police station.
On April 30, Yashwanth Gurukar, the in-charge of the Covid war room belonging to Bommanahalli zone, had visited the war room between 11 am and 12 pm, when a crowd of about 50 to 60 unidentified people came together near the war room on the issue of booking beds for the Covid patients.
The crowd mobbed the war room, and behaved rudely with the joint commissioner, Ramakrishna. They pushed Yashwanth and Ramakrishna around and obstructed them from discharging their government duties, Gurukar stated in his police complaint. He has urged the police to take action against the accused.
The police, who have registered a case, are probing the matter.
Supporters of Bommanahalli BJP MLA, Satish Reddy, who has been named in the bed blocking scandal, had visited the war room of Bommanahalli zone, tried to attack the officials and threatened them. This incident had triggered widespread resentment all over the state against the attackers.
