Mangaluru, May 8: Kannada feature film ‘Koli Taal’ directed by Abhilash Shetty is selected for 21st New York Indian film festival.
The 21st New York Indian film festival will be held from June 4 to 13 at New York. Radha Ramachandra and Prabhakar Kunder are playing the lead role, along with Ganesh Mogaveerapete, Sharath Devadiga and Guruprasad Nairy.
The movie is produced by Sachin Pattan Shetty, captured by Swaroop Yashwanth, visual effects by Allan Sequiera, sound design by Vithor Moraes, poster designed by Jessica Kinich, trailer by Suresh Arumugam.
Sachin Kunder is the associate director while Chethan Shetty, Dhanush D Shetty, Chethan Salian, Manoj Ramachandra are assistant directors.
Apart from directing, Abhilash Shetty has written the story, screenplay and edited the movie.
Abhilash Shetty has roots of Kundapur and has completed his BCom. He worked for two years in a company at Bengaluru. After quitting his job Abhilash went on to do three short films namely Crony, Vinashi and 2 missed calls which was selected in 15 film festivals.
Abhilash Shetty says, ‘The story is inspired from my childhood days. The movie is completely content based and art house drama. The movie is shot at Bharamavar, Sagara and Yakshagana sequence was shot at Mandarthi.
The story of Koli Taal is about an elderly couple who plan to cook chicken curry for dinner for their grandson, but the chicken goes missing. The story revolves around a missing chicken, says Abhilash Shetty.
The team is planning to release the movie on OTT platform.
