Negative RT-PCR test report not mandatory for all passengers coming to Karnataka: Govt

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SHP)

Bengaluru, May 7: In view of the surge in Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra, Punjab, Kerala and Chandigarh, passengers coming to Karnataka from these states had to compulsorily produce negative RT-PCR negative test report (not older than 72 hrs), informed an official order by the state government.

The earlier order had also directed the concerned airways to make necessary arrangements at the airports for verifying RT-PCR negative test reports and collect, test samples of those who arrive without the test report.

However, considering the current situation, the state government has ordered the discontinuation of the process of verifying RT-PCR test reports from the above mentioned four states. But, it will still be mandatory for those with Covid symptoms to carry an RT-PCR negative test report.

The official order by the state government has directed the airport authorities to ensure that travellers strictly comply with Covid Appropriate Behaviour in the interest of public health

There is no point in making it mandatory only for air travelers, when people flocking into the state by trains, buses, commercial vehicles and private cars without any such test reports !!!!
