Belagavi, Apr 11: State in-charge of Congress affairs, Randeep Singh Surjewala, on Saturday April 10 charged Karnataka chief minister, B S Yediyurappa, of not being aware of how to run a government.
"He only knows how to indulge in corruption. That is why the tug-of-war between the chief minsiter and the rural development minister has come into the open," Surjewala said.
Speaking to media representatives at the Congress Bhavan here, he said. "The Yediyurappa-led government here tops in the list of corrupt governments. It has been committing murder of democracy. This government has not been paying attention to the state's progress. We know about GST but in Karnataka, there is a new tax named after Yediyurappa's second son B Y Vijayendra. Peoplel have to pay taxes to him as well," he claimed.
Surjewala said that during the Congress regime, law and order was in good condition in the state. He accused the home minister in the BJP government of failing to keep the top-level officers under control. He claimed that the officers were fighting like cats and dogs, and the people are fed up.
He wanted to know why the sixth pay commission report was not being implemented in the case of KSRTC workers. "Union minister Prahlad Joshi should be ashamed at the fact that a woman consumed poison and ended her life in front of his house for not disbursing flood relief amount to her family." He said that even after this suicide, the government is not opening its eyes.
Surjewala urged the people to give a befitting reply to the BJP governemt for the unbridled increase in the prices of petrol, diesel, cooking gas and other essentials, and for the corruption of the central and state governments. He said that for the people to survive, they have to elect Congress candidates.
