Faithful throng churches for Easter Vigil Mass across Mangaluru, Udupi

Mangaluru/Udupi, Apr 3: Christians across the twin districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi began Easter celebrations in the evening on Saturday, April 3.

The Easter celebration commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ and was carried out by bishop Peter Paul Saldanha in Mangaluru. Meanwhile, bishop Dr Gerald Issac Lobo led the celebrations in Udupi.

The Holy Week which began with Palm Sunday on March 28, culminates with Easter Sunday on April 4.

Maundy Thursday and Good Friday marked the passion and crucifixion of Jesus Christ, respectively.

The Easter Vigil Masses were attended by thousands of faithful in their respective parishes.
