Udupi, Apr 3: "Once again the feast of Easter has arrived to give the message that 'Light is more powerful than darkness. Truth is stronger than lie. Love is stronger than hate and sacrifice is more powerful than selfishness'. Let this Easter bring new hope to humanity. Let this celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ take the whole of mankind from darkness to light and from untruth to truth." said Dr Jerald Lobo, bishop of Udupi, in his Easter message.

"Last year was a time of fear, frustration and difficulties for the whole world. Humanity was battered under Covid- pandemic. Especially the poor, shelterless, destitute and labourers suffered a lot. There was no chance to celebrate the Easter festival of last year in a grand manner. Even then, we can say that Easter is an opportunity for us to take away the disappointments of our life and instil new hope.

"Jesus Christ died on the cross to save the whole of mankind. Cross is the spiritual instrument that gives freedom and invites peaceful life. Cross has a unique place in the life of Christians. They revere it and install it in the highest positions in their houses. Every day of Christians begin and end with the sign of cross. Way of the cross is the path God shows for human beings to give up selfishness and live in the love of others.

"Death could not defeat Jesus Christ. He was victorious over death. The difficulties, death and pains of our lives is not meaningless. Instead, they are the instruments through which God implements his will in us. Though we get distracted for some time due to these difficulties, if we accept his will by keeping unfailing faith, it is sure that light will come after the darkness in our life. Let us pray that mankind might get relieved from the Covid- pandemic soon.

"The life we live on this earth includes difficulties, pain and defeats. Resurrection means a joyous life which does not have death, pain, worries, hunger and thirst. By his resurrection, Jesus Christ had given us assurance of life. There is no need for the human being to get frustrated under any circumstance. If we turn to God with utter faith of light after darkness eternal life will be ours says the Easter festival. The real resurrection is crossing the darkness called evil and coming towards light called righteousness.

"Let us all, who celebrate Easter festival, pray for those who are suffering from Covid-19 and the health workers who are serving them. Jesus Christ, who has defeated death, gives them the strength for their sacrificial service. In addition, let him protect all of us and keep us safe. I wish a happy Easter to all the loving brethren of our society. Let the resurrected Jesus Christ protect you with peace,” the bishop stated in his message.

"Then the LORD God formed the man out of the dust from the ground and breathed the breath of life into his nostrils, and the man became a living being". Today the whole world is suffering from Covid-19. We all try to avoid to breath nearby. Government policies, Health authorities warning, Science discovery, and our scareness make everyone very stressed. The TRUTH is, if we human beings not willing to stay as per Truth, then we may not able to breathe. When a living creature is not able to breathe it is considered dead. The TRUTH is the God who is loving us and giving us the best way to understand the TRUTH is Jesus. He born as a human, suffered as a human, died as a human but the TRUTH is he showed us if we live the True life we will be raised for eternal life, Amen. Happy and Blessed Easter to all.
