Kasargod, Mar 30: Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday, March 30 said the Bharatiya Janata Party had won its first-ever seat in the state in Nemom in 2016. This account of BJP will be shut this time.
He was addressing a press meet at Ct Towers here.
"BJP had won this constituency by making a secret pact with Congress. But, this time we will shut it," Kerala CM said.
LDF will win more seats as compared to the 2016 elections, and the LDF administration will continue in Kerala, the CM declared.
"People accepted the developmental work that has been undertaken during the last five years. In spite of flood, natural disasters and the pandemic, Kerala witnessed several developmental works taking place. The government responded to the problems of people even at the time of crisis," he said.
"Opposition parties are misleading the people. They do not have enough content to talk about their contributions to the state. Compare present Kerala and Kerala five years ago, everything has improved like the quality of hospitals, schools, roads etc. The promises made in the election manifesto have been fulfilled. The system of the fair-price has improved. The amount of monthly pension has increased," the CM asserted.
"The union government is making efforts to divide the people and implement RSS ideology. We will not allow the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act. Citizenship based on religion is disastrous to democracy. It has caused fear in the mind of minorities."
Taking a dig at union railway minister Vijayan said, "Piyush Goyal, is claiming that the attack on nuns on trains in Uttar Pradesh was untrue. This is an effort to implement the agenda of Sangh Parivar. They are trying to hush up the case and protect the ABVP activists." he alleged.
Vijayan later took part in the election campaign at the premises of the school in Mogral and campaigned in favour of Manjeshwar candidate VV Rameshan, Kasargod constituency candidate, M A Latif and Uduma constituency candidate, C H Kunhambu.
