Udupi, Mar 25: The number of coronavirus cases are increasing day by day in the district. District administration and police department is taking stringent action against those who are not wearing masks. In this context, traffic police of the city created awareness by distributing masks.

Traffic police team led by sub-inspector (SI) Abdul Khader fined people who were not wearing masks near Kalsanka and the service bus stand area. At the same time, they also distributed mask to the public to create awareness.

Many vehicle drivers were caught driving their vehicles without wearing the mask.

Responding to the query of scribes, SI Abdul Khader said, "Incidents of coronavirus are increasing in the district. Recently, the deputy commissioner also fined people who did not wear masks. Around 80 percent of the public in Udupi wears masks. We are slapping fine on those who do not wear masks and also distributing masks to them in a bid to create awareness."

Selection for soldiers for army is going on since last one week in M G Stadium, Ajjarkad, Udupi . You can see lot of candidates who had came from other districts are roaming around in Udupi city without mask that too in a large groups in the evening. Request police/govt officials to make an urgent visit to this place. Give them a mask and instruct them to wear it when they are going out in the evening.
