Mangaluru, Mar 22: The Dakshina district administration and the local police carried out a surprise raid at petrol bunks, malls, jewellery shops, private buses and public places etc. The intention behind the raid was to single out the violators of health norms, prominently people who were not wearing face masks.
The police personnel have taken into custody a petrol bunk staff who refused to wear masks.
The surprise raid was held under the leadership of deputy commissioner Dr Rajendra and DCP Hariram Shankar. The deputy commissioner also took to task the people who were seen without masks.
As an outcome of the raid, the buses that violated the Covid guidelines were seized. Further, three shops in the City Centre mall were shut down for violating health norms.
