Vijayapura, Mar 21: BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal has stirred another storm by predicting that chief ministers of both Karnataka and Haryana are going to be replaced after the West Bengal elections.
Speaking to the scribes in the city, Yatnal said, "No one can silence the voice of people of north Karnataka. Time will answer everything. Let the assembly elections of five states get over. Let us see whose prophecy becomes a reality.
"Change of chief minister in the state is 100% sure. It is difficult to fight the next elections with this chief minister (Yediyurappa). BJP national secretary Arun Singh is aware of these things. But he is simply saying that the chief minister will not change.
"Chief minister of Karnataka should be changed at any cost. If BJP has to survive in the state, it is necessary to do this. Similar to changing of chief minister in Uttarakhand, change to chief minister position will be done in Haryana and Karnataka.
"I have spoken against corruption and dynasty politics. One of the MLA said that I only glorify Vajpayee and Narendra Modi. Both these leaders do not have a single case of corruption on them. They have not done dynasty politics. They are role models for me. How can I glorify those who do dynasty politics and are involved in corruption in politics?
"The intention of chief minister Yediyurappa calling for a meeting of BJP legislators is to target Eshwarappa. He has not allotted the development fund properly to the MLAs. He has given the grant as per his wish and will. He gives more grants to MLAs of Congress and JD (S) party," he added.
"Yediyurappa doesn't even care about the MLAs, who were responsible for him becoming chief minister of Karnataka. He has given a grant of Rs 380 crore to Shivamogga for airport development, while only Rs 220 crore is allotted for Vijayapura. He has showed discrimination in this matter. Yediyurappa said that he will give Rs 25,000 crores for irrigation every year after he becomes chief minister. However, he has provided only Rs 5,600 crores in this year's budget.
"When injustice of this nature occurs, we have to raise our voice. I am the representative of the people. I am fighting for the future of BJP in Karnataka. Yediyurappa should not become the last BJP chief minister of South India. There should be BJP chief ministers in Karnataka for the next 10 to 20 years. I am fighting in that direction. Some one with the ideals of PM Narendra Modi should become the chief minister of Karnataka," he said.
