Customs officials at Mangaluru airport seize gold worth Rs 13.16 lac from Dubai returnee

Mangaluru, Mar 19: Customs officials at the Mangaluru International Airport on Friday, March 19, seized gold that was being smuggled by a passenger by way of body concealment.

The seized gold recovered from the duo is worth Rs 13,16,238.

The passenger had come from Dubai in SpiceJet flight no. SG146. 

 

The passenger detained was from Ulhasnagar who was carrying gold by way of concealment in the rectum. Gold in powder form mixed with solid gum in the form of a ring, kada, button and label weighing 284.900 gms was seized.  

Further investigation is in progress.
