Mangaluru: Ullal resident dies in accident in AP, one serious, another suffers minor injuries

Mangaluru, Mar 19: After a lorry from the city met with an accident in Andhra Pradesh (AP), a native of Ullal here lost his life. Another one suffered serious injuries, while the third one survived with minor injuries.

Muhammed Ravoof (22) from Harekala Aiku, passed away on the spot. Shakir from Pavoor Harekala suffered grievous injuries, while a youth from Natekal here escaped with minor nicks and cuts.

The lorry was bringing a load of fish from Odisha to Mangaluru when it met with an accident in Andhra Pradesh late night on Wednesday. The lorry had left a fisheries port in Odisha on Wednesday morning and had covered a distance of about 450 km when the accident occurred.

The lorry was expected to reach the city market on Friday. Relatives of the deceased have left for Bengaluru. The mortal remains are planned to be brought here from Andhra Pradesh via Bengaluru. The body is expected to reach Mangaluru on Friday.
