Beltangady: Boy crushed under wheels of truck driven by own father

Beltangady, Mar 11: Murshid (8), a third standard student of Ujire Halepete Badurl Huda Madrassa and son of Ibrahim Ibdi, resident of Ujire Attaje, met a gory death on the evening of Wednesday March 10 at Moodbidri. He was crushed under the wheels of a truck driven by his own father.

Murshid was the elder of the two children of Ibrahim and Rahimath couple. It is said that when the father went to the stone quarry in Moodbidri, the boy accompanied him. Reportedly, when the father was driving the truck, the boy accidentally came under the wheels of the lorry and lost his life.

The couple currently lives in Raifa Garden flat in Kotrody Compound, Ujire. The boy has left behind his parents and four-year-old sister Safa.

Immediately after the accident, the boy was rushed to a hospital at Moodbidri but by then he was no more. Post-mortem was performed there on the same night and the funeral was performed at the Ujire Masjid burial ground at about 12.30 am.

A case about the incident was registered at Moodbidri police station.
