Mangaluru, Mar 4: A meeting chaired by the Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner Dr Rajendra at the Kadri divisional office was successful at finding a solution to the problems being faced by passengers of the buses that refuse to ply till Talapady.
A unanimous decision was taken that bus owners will pay Rs 14,000 per month in advance to Navayuga company as a toll. The buses that pay Rs 14,000 will be to cross the booth once the FasTag has been activated. The passengers destined to Talapady will be charged Rs 2 extra on the fare. Furthermore, local vehicles have been exempted from payment of toll.
Former district panchayat member, Vinay Naik, Highway Project Authority director, Shishumohan, Navayuga company’s Shivaprasad Shetty, Ramakrishna, Private Bus Owners Association district president, Dilraj Alva, office bearers, Sharath Maroli, Ashwathama Hegde, Raviraj, Sudesh Maroli, KSRTC officials, social activist Yashu Pakkala Talapady, Vani Poojary, taluk panchayat members, Siddiq Kolangere, Surekha Chandrahas, gram panchayat members, Vaibhav Shetty, Vinay Shetty and others were present.
