Bengaluru, Mar 2: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president D K Shivakumar, said that misunderstanding relating to election of mayor in alliance with the JD(S) at Mysuru is a minor issue. He said that in local bodies politics, there is bound to be some confusions which would be sorted out at the party level. He admitted that as per promise made earlier, the alliance should have continued this year, and the post of the mayor should have been given to the Congress.
In the mayoral election, MLA Tanveer Sait has sent a detailed report to KPCC. He said he has dealt with all aspects in the report and he has not committed any mistakes in the matter. He said that the prime objective was to keep the BJP away from power as the JD(S) would have aligned with the BJP if the Congress insisted on bagging mayoral seat.
In the meanwhile, Muslim organizations held protest on Monday at Ambedkar Circle, Raichur. The leaders said that Siddaramaiah has been drubbing the Muslim leaders since the last some years in the state. They said that Siddaramaiah is trying to finish the political career of Muslim leaders. They cited the example of Tanveer Sait, who is being harassed relating to the mayoral election at Mysuru even though he succeeded in retaining the power with the Congress - JD(S) alliance.
