Madikeri, Mar 2: People coming into Karnataka from Kerala are not allowed unless they possess Covid negative certificates. A youth from Kerala border had to run from pillar to post at the last minute to procure the negative certificate to be able to marry the girl he had chosen as his life partner, as the families were ignorant about the negative certificate rule.
Tension was writ large on the faces of the family residing at the house of Rohini and Jayappa Naik in Kadagadalu village in the district for the last four days. Jayappa Naik's daughter, Asha, was to marry Pramod, son of Naryana Nair and Geetha couple from Muliyar, Kasargod district. Those arriving from Kerala have to compulsorily produce a Covid negative certificate that is no more than three days old.
This rule threatened to become a stumbling block for the said marriage.
Pramod somehow succeeded in bringing negative report from Kerala and marry Asha at Omkareshwara temple in the town. He got the coronavirus test done through a private hospital in Kerala and came here with a handful of his close ones, and returned after marrying Asha.
