Mangaluru, Mar 2: Customs officials at the Mangaluru International Airport on Tuesday March 2, seized 350 grams of gold that was being smuggled by a passenger by way of concealment in trolley bag beadings.
The passenger detained was Mohammed Awan, hailing from Murudeshwar. He had come from Dubai by an Air India flight.
The seized gold recovered is worth Rs 16,52,000.
The Customs team was led by Dr Kapil Gade IRS, deputy commissioner, with active roles played by officers Nagesh Kumar, superintendent, Subendu Behra and Naveen.
