Udupi: Sachidananda Murthy rues Brahmin girls becoming ‘Love Jihad’ targets

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Mar 1: Karnataka State Brahmin Development Board chairman, Sachidananda Murthy, said that it is necessary that Brahminism survives if Hindutwa has to survive. He lamented the fact that as a strategy of anti-Brahmin conspiracy, Brahmin girls are mostly being targeted when executing Love Jihad plans.

He was addressing the gathering at the inaugural of Brahmi auditorium built by Udupi District Yuva Brahmin Parishad at Doddakanagudde here on Sunday February 28.

Murthy said that out of about 10,800 Love Jihad cases, more than 4,000 girls were from Brahmin families. "Most of these cases have happened in Sirsi and some other parts of Uttara Kannada district. There are 44 sub castes among the Brahmins. All of them have to shelve their superiority and inferiority complexes and get united. We believe in the principle of wishing the good of everyone. If we get denigrated repeatedly, we may have to hit back. We cannot tolerate if our community getting ridiculed and derogated through literature, cinema and social media continues, in which case, we will not be mute spectators," he warned.

Murthy said that the state government has promised to allocate grant of Rs 347 crore to the board, and promised to utilise the grant for constructing Brahmin community halls in all the districts, building for post-funeral rites, and housing scheme.

In his benedictory address, would be Paryaya Swamiji, Sri Vidyasagara Theertha of Krishnapur Math, said that religious procedures and austerities should be performed for the Brahminism to survive. He said that one's confidence and inner power gets enriched when people work selflessly. He said that when people move on this direction, everything will become smooth.

Palimaru Sri Vidyadheesha Theertha Swamiji, and Kaniyoor Sri Vidyavallabha Theertha Swamiji, also addressed the participants. MLA K Raghupathi Bhat presided. Karnataka bank chief executive officer and managing director M S Mahabaleshwara, entrepreneur Vidya Prasad, K R Dinesh and Harikrishna from Bengaluru, Shrikanth Bhat Kemthoor, a hotelier from Hubballi, Sripathi Bhat from Moodbidri, Dr V Ashok Kumar of Nisarga Ayurvedic Medicine Bengaluru, Perampalli Mahalingeshgwara Mahaganapathi temple managing trustee P N Prasanna Kumar Rao, and others were present.

Our toothless laws will not going to help .Teach your kids from early childhood how to keep away from all types of evils. If something goes wrong don't keep waiting for justice for decades.Have the will to take some action which will act as a deterrent for the devils.

Behind the scene amount of politics in those 44 groups of brahmins is well known. Each group is trying to exert their superiority over the other and this is only in our state. A Tamil Brahmin or a Kashmiri Brahmin will once again emphasize his moral superiority over the other two...First let all brahmin groups become one big group, so that the brahmin girls family can look outside their own group for a suitable proposal. In Islam all muslims (or atleast most muslims are considered equal). There might be minor, petty issues among various muslim communities, but nothing like the superiority complex that exist in brahmin groups...If I have the capacity, I can marry a Kashmiri muslim girl also or a European Bosnian muslim girl also...but the question is do I? Or will I?

it is a dead lock situation... boy is muslim... girl is hindu brahmin... it is not good for the couple and future children if parents belong to different religion... so both boy and girl have to belong to same religion through conversion.... boy cannot convert because there is no provision for Muslim boy to convert to Hinduism, so girl converts... however there is hope... if there is a process to convert Muslim boy to hinduism with attached brahmin status, situation might change...

Change the cream and the others will follow ..Conversion goes on on ..The meaning of secularism and pluralism is all down down th drains ..The UN should enact laws to protect cultural diversity..else these Ponzi scheme of conversion will go on.

Who is targeting our Brahmin girls? Two individuals are needed for tango; one cannot dance alone. Blame of love jihad usually falls when one of the parties (usually males) belong to a different faith. If the other partner is of a different caste within the faith, e.g. Dalit, then there is no cause for alarm. Or is there? Yu tell me, Mr. Sachidananda Murthy.

If we had no caste system we would have been much more progressive and developed than the US, UK or Japan. We are still living in the past with this caste and religion nonsense and politicians blackmail us on our religious orientation, exploit our weaknesses and enjoy the most at our cost.

Dear Rational thinker, (If we had no caste system we would have been much more progressive and developed than the US, UK or Japan.) = (If we had no head, we would have not suffered from headache) Development of a country can be affected by caste system, but only in small quantity. There are many factors which contribute positively and negatively to the growth of the country. Caste and religion system of India is very rich with variety of culture. It devolops a country in many aspects. Poor mindset of certain people cause problems in development. 17902

when two educated people marrying because they love each other and have a good understanding, should not be limited to caste, creed, culture. First we should get rid of varna system and all hindus must respect each other without any caste/creed. Religion is man -made. One example I wish to share, my friend who is a catholic in Mumbai is a well known high court lawyer, his two sons married brahmin girls - One Kashmiri & second GSB they knew each other at colleges. Today they are living happily and each boy respects the culture of his wife and they continue to have vegetarian foods at home and practice Hindu system of faith by wife and husband goes to church on sunday and at times husband drops wife at temple and wife drops husband at church and on special occasions they both attend each others places of worship, This is what needed if you marry anyone out of your own caste respect other persons culture and practices.

MR DK Shetty, There are lot many Christian Hindu marriages in our own districts. there are not much problems here because it is a two way street. Girls could be of both religion. In some faiths its is seen as sacrilege unless the Girls convert to their religion. Therefore it is one way street. besides it is unthinkable in those faiths to have husband following one religion and wife following another religion.

Likewise I too know a family of four following three different faiths under one roof. Father is a Muslim, mother and son are Christians, daughter-in-law (son’s wife) is a Hindu. This may seem strange or fake to some fanatics, but fortunately or unfortunately it’s true.

Amaze karkala,I dont think that out of 10,000these jihad cases 4,000are girls from Brahmin .I ask what were Brahmin boys doing during their girls were seeking their happiness elsewhere?I see many times Brahmin boys marry mostly very late about age of 40?Girls must wait until one come across.?in houses.?Were other girls were not there ?Brahmins have to look into their books ,and search.till then girls age will be quite behind to have a family.Dont put fault on other religions.See your back first if any soap is needed to clean. Many boys adapt priesthood and remain in temple.should girls too do that?

Readers, these figures if found to be true.... then " Alarm bells " will certainly start ringing across Karnataka... Earlier last year a conclave of Catholic Bishops in Kerala, had passed a unanimous motion, severely condemning the systematic gameplan, of emotional abductions of young, educated Christian girls, into the fold of Islam, under the guise of " Love Jihad "

Can Mr. Murthy clarify on these two points : (1) Need for Hindu people to convert to Buddhism (2) Need to announce a figure in Lakhs to girls who are willing to marry a priest (Brahmin) by profession Look Mr. Murthy, the above two points are the answer to the problem you are finding and crying wolf in Brahmin community. Rectify the reason for the above, your lamenting that 'Brahmanism is on the verge of extinction' (just as Narendra Modi in 2014 did the similar 'cry wolf' saying Hinduism is in the verge of extinction) will be a 'Tussssss'

some marry inter-religion for plain practical reasons... one local guy married inter-religion... if he had married within religion, it was practically not possible for him to drink, smoke and eat all kinds of non-veg as much as he wished... now he is free man, can eat beef, can eat pork or any meat... and moreover his wife was well employed so financial security too...

Bhat mam if everyone thinks like you this world will be better place. Tell you the truth when people marry to increase population then it become a issues. Every marriage need love but not love jihad. If it is true of the numbers then it is a concern. Investigators should verify is any foreign hand is influencing local youths to act in such a way to create such mess for no reason. If someone really love each other and get married in that scenario love matters and get married anyone freely

The reality is that there are many separate groups who are Brahmin. But some Brahmins do not recognise others as Brahmins. South Indian Brahmins do not consider the North Indian Brahmins as Brahmins. The Shivalli Brahmins do not recognise the Goud Saraswat Brahmins as Brahmins. But the local gods existed before the Shivalli/Havyaka Brahmins arrived in the 10th century. So Hinduism will survive without the Brahmins.
