Mangaluru, Feb 18: Jeshma D’Souza, who was suffering from Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a type of blood cancer passed away on Thursday February 18 at a private hospital here in the city.
She was admitted to a private hospital four days ago after her health condition suddenly turned critical. Since November 2019, she was battling the disease which had entered the 4th stage. She was suggested immediate chemotherapy then.
Jeshma’s parents had spent all their resources for the chemotherapy treatment. They had later appealed to Daijiworld’s generous readers for generous contributions to help meet the treatment costs.
Jeshma’s family members have expressed their heartfelt gratitude and thanked all the readers of Daijiworld who extended their wholehearted support during the time of distress.
It may be recalled, Daijiworld had published an appeal seeking financial help to Jeshma’s specialized treatment in December 2019. Readers from all over the world came forward to help the family with wishes and prayers. A sum of Rs 31 lac was donated by large-hearted human beings, crossing all the boundaries of caste, creed and religion for the cause.
Sources from the family informed that Jeshma’s funeral will be held at 5 pm on Thursday February 18 at St Antony Church, Allipade, Bantwal.
