Washington, Feb 8: In a dramatic move, US President Donald Trump has revoked security clearance for his predecessor Joe Biden, barring him from receiving classified intelligence briefings. The decision, announced on Trump’s social media platform Truth Social, appears to be payback for Biden's 2021 decision to cut off Trump’s access to classified information.
"There is no need for Joe Biden to continue receiving access to classified information," Trump wrote, citing Biden’s alleged "poor memory" as revealed in the Hur Report on his handling of classified documents.

"Joe, you're fired. make America great again!" he added.
Presidents traditionally receive classified briefings after leaving office, though at a much-reduced frequency. However, Biden had stripped Trump of this privilege in 2021, citing security concerns following the January 6 Capitol attack.
Trump has taken similar action against several officials, including retired general Mark Milley and over 50 former intelligence officers who criticized him. He has also revoked security details of former allies such as ex-secretary of State Mike Pompeo and former National security adviser John Bolton.
The latest move signals escalating tensions as Trump prepares for a highly contentious re-election bid.
