Mangalore, Jun 25: As heavy rains lashed Sullia taluk, both Kumaradhara and Payasvini Rivers are in full flow. Subrhamanya received heavy rain, registering seven cms, while other places got normal rains. Agricultural activities have gained in intensity as a result.
Bhatkal in Uttara Kannada district received ten cms of rain, with nearby Shirali getting nine cms. Kundapur taluk recorded heavy rains on Thursday June 24. No reports of any damage to lives or property have been received so far. However, several industries in Bykampady Industrial Area faced problems, as artificial floods created by the nonclearing of drains resulted in water entering their factories.
The meteorological department has predicted normal to heavy rains in Karnataka coast in the next two days, with light to normal rains in northern hinterlands.
