Udupi, Jun 19: Udupi district BJP president, K Udayakumar Shetty, has announced that Vijayakumar Udyavar, president of the district Agricultural Produce Market Committee, has been expelled from the primary membership of the party for anti-party activities.
The Kaup block committee of the party had recommended for Vijayakumar’s explusion, because of his activities during the recent gram panchayat elections, which were detrimental to the interests of the party. The district committee of the BJP, after scrutinizing the report in detail, has accepted the recommendations, he revealed.
“Vijayakumar Udyavar has been expelled from the party for six years with immediate effect. He has been asked to resign from APMC presidentship,” Shetty said.
