Karkala: One killed after bus rams into man sitting on parked bike

Karkala, Jan 16: A private bus hit a parked bike killing a man on spot. The incident took place near Forever, Nitte village on Saturday January 16.

The deceased has been identified as Vasanth Kumar (45) from Nitte village, a teacher by profession.

The bus was plying from Karkala to Padubidri. The bus driver took a left on the road and hit Vasanth who was sitting on his bike talking over phone. Vasanth fell on the road and suffered serious injuries.

Public rushed him to a nearby government hospital and shifted him to KMC hospital for further treatment, where he breathed his last.

A complaint is registered at Karkala rural police station.

    He was my teacher. He was the best teacher one can get and it broke my heart when I heard that he is gone. I don't have words to express my sorrows and sadness. _ I could not even meet him for the last time and I will regret it forever. May his soul rest in peace, wish you healing with all my heart.

    RIP, Vasanth Kumar. That's the only condolences I could give your family members and all your colleagues and loved ones. This is very tragic that a young man was killed by a bus who was just sitting inside a parked bike.

    This accident bus should be private owned buses as the private owned buses have no accountability and bus mafia with the backing of goondas are running this. That does not mean, even govt. bus service is better. But the drivers are far better than the private bus drivers as they have accountability.

    Sad that, young teacher has lost his life. May his soul rest in peace.
