Vasco, Jun 7: Two youths died on the spot while another sustained severe injuries when the bike on which they were travelling skidded off the road and crashed into a roadside mound at Dabolim on Sunday evening.
According to the Verna police, the accident occurred at around 4.30 p.m. when the deceased -- Mustakim Anwar, 25, a native of Bihar; Kalim Ekramuddin, 20, from Uttar Pradesh and the injured Rizwan Kalamuddin, 20, from Bihar while travelling from Birla cross towards Vasco via Alto-Dabolim lost control over the bike, bearing the registration number, MH-02-BC-6852 before ramming it into a roadside embankment.
The deceased -- Mustakim and Kalim died on the spot while the other youth suffered critical injuries and was moved to Goa Medical College (GMC) and Hospital, Bambolim.
The bodies of the deceased have been referred to Hospicio hospital, Margao for post mortem to be held on Monday. Police informed that the trio had come down to Goa and were working as labourers.
It was also informed that the bike they were riding belonged to their supervisor.
Police disclosed that an offence against the rider of the bike will be registered for rash and negligent driving.
The head constable, Mr M Mhalsekar conducted the panchanama. Police sub-inspector, Mr Sushant Gawas is carrying out investigation under the supervision of PI, Mr Jivba Dalvi.
