Bengaluru, Dec 23: Reversing his earlier decision against imposing night curfew in the State to check the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Wednesday announced clamping of night curfew all over Karnataka from 10 pm to 6 am from tonight till January 2.
The decision to impose night curfew all over the State has been taken in view of the detection of the new strain of more contagious and serious strain of COVID 19 based on the advice of the Government of India, the Chief Minister said.
Making a sudden announcement before media, the Chief Minister said all international travellers arriving in the State will have to produce RT-PCR test negative certificate taken 72 hours before arrival. Arrangements for conducting RT-PCR tests have been made in the airports as per the Government of India directive.
The imposition of strict night curfew all over the State would mean there will be no celebrations or public gatherings of any kind for the Christmas or New Year celebrations.
