Mangaluru, Feb 9: In a significant boost to infrastructure in the Mangaladevi ward, the Mangaluru City Corporation launched a Rs 5.85 crore development project under the Mangaluru Smart City project that promises to enhance public services.

The new facilities—ranging from a state-of-the-art primary health centre to a veterinary clinic, modern bus terminal, residential complex for municipal staff, and a community park — were inaugurated by Mayor Manoj Kumar, MP Capt Brijesh Chowta, MLA Vedavyas Kamath, and former mayor Premanand Shetty.

The newly constructed primary health centre spans 1200 sq m and includes allopathy and homoeopathy clinics, dental care, physiotherapy, and more. The veterinary clinic features treatment rooms for livestock, while a 110-meter bus bay and 4-meter-wide footpath were also developed to enhance public convenience.

A park was also created for residents to enjoy their evenings.

The inauguration was attended by local leaders and officials, with Premanand Shetty announcing that services from Father Muller and Srinivas Hospitals would soon be available for the public.
