The police have now intensified their search for the main conspirator who stage managed the abduction. Unsubstantiated sources claimed that Bijoy had a debt of about Rs 1.3 crore to the person who planned the abduction. The police are also checking facts on this information. The abductor is from Hassan district and he knows the family of Bijoy very well, it was revealed during the investigation. The fact that the kidnappers insisted on being paid in the form of bitcoins gave rise to suspicion about the involvement of bitcoin dealings in the entire abduction episode. The police have taken into custody Bijoy's mobile phone and have been checking his business dealings.
Bantwal deputy superintendent of police Valentine D'Souza, police circle inspector Sandesh P G and sub-inspector Nandakumar, are leading the interrogation and hope to bring out the entire gamut of the abduction drama in a couple of days. The accused are likely to be led to Kolar again for inquest proceedings.
The boy said that he was told by the strangers that they were friends of his father and that they wanted to give him a surprise by taking him away. He believed in them. Mother of the boy, Sarita, while thanking the police for their quick response and the people of the area who gave vital information, said that there is a need to keep watch on the movements of the children and also teach them the techniques of self-defence.
