Kundapur, Dec 19: Driver of an auto rickshaw got seriously injured in a collision that occurred between his vehicle and a car at Trasi national highway 66 on Saturday December 19.
The car was approaching Trasi from Byndoor, while the local rickshaw was moving from Trasi to Mowadi. Two passengers in the auto rickshaw received minor injuries. They are admitted to a private hospital in the city. The injured were taken to hospital in Apathbandhava ambulance which reported to the spot immediately after the accident.
Locals resorted to highway blockage at Trasi Junction. They expressed their rage at the administration for the apathy shown towards unsafe highway. They were agitated that no safety measure are taken on highway junctions.
Gangolli station officer Bheemashankar, personnel of the station and ASI Anand Byndoor of Highway Patrol reported to the spot and had discussion with the protesters and made way for smooth flow of traffic.
