Mangalore, May 27: The district administration of Dakshina Kannada has plans to deliver the death certificates of air crash victims at the doorsteps of their families within ten days.
The tahsildars of the respective taluks have been told to collect all the necessary details. The village accountants have been directed to visit the families of the deceased passengers of the said flight within three days, fill in details in proforma – 2, and obtain signatures of the family members. The district administration has asked the families to provide accurate details to the village accountants to ensure that there are no hitches at the time of processing claims, insurance, etc., later.
Normally, gram panchayats concerned issue death certificates in case of deaths that have occurred within their limits. Malavoor gram panchayat, under the jurisdiction of which the air crash occurred, has been facing some technical problems in issuing death certificates to the air crash victims. Because of this, the district administration has now decided to door-deliver the death certificates, it is gathered.
