Mangalore, May 24: Konkani Cultural Organization (KCO) Abu Dhabi in association with Samanvaya here organized a seminar for its scholarship students on ‘Building corruption free personality’ at Samanvaya Conference Hall, Urwa Stores on Sunday May 23.
Your browser may not support display of this image. The president of the function Dr Pius Fidelis Pinto, the managing trustee of Samanvaya inaugurated the seminar. He called upon the students to imbibe and nurture good values in them and to build a society free of corruption. “Corruption is widely spread in all the developmental fields of India. This epidemic is spreading like Cancer. Honest silent people should break their silence against this menace”, he added.
David Lobo, extension worker of CODP and Sushma Priyadarshini D’Souza, tutor at Alva’s Dance College were the chief guests.
The resource person Dr Ronald Cutinha, director of Samanvaya portrayed the sad scene of corruption in India through various instances and power point presentations.
He explained the caused of corruption, different types of corruption and what policies and decisions should be taken to stop the corruption completely. Some of the students gave feedback on the day’s proceedings.
In the beginning, prayer song was rendered by Reema Pinto and group. Fr Cutinha welcomed the gathering and introduced the guests. He also proposed the vote of thanks. Vinisha Mendonca compered. In all, 61 students participated in the seminar.
