Mangalore, May 23: The body of Narayan Rao (50), a senior clerk in the Bejai branch of Karnataka Bank was the first one to be identified in the casualty ward of the Government Wenlock Hospital after the major plane crash on Saturday May 22.
As the bodies were being brought to the Hospital, the ambulance staff heard a phone ringing. They found it in the trouser pocket of a deceased person and in answering the call, it was known that the victim was Narayan Rao. The ambulance staff also found Rs 9,000 cash in his pocket and handed over the money to a police officer.
Rao was aboard the ill-fated plane with his wife Vani, an Ayurvedic doctor and daughter Vaishnavi.
