Teen scientist Geetanjali Rao picked for rare TIME honour is a Mangalurean

Mangaluru, Dec 5: International magazine, 'TIME' has, for the first time, introduced the 'Kid of the Year' award this year. Young scientist of Indian origin, Geetanjali Rao, has been picked for the coveted honour this year. Geetanjali is a Mangalurean settled in Denver, Colorado, USA.

Geetanjali happens to be the daughter of Rama Rao and Bharathi couple from Mangaluru. The researches of Geetanjali have scored over more than 5,000 researches of Americans which were nominated for the said award.

Popular Hollywood actress, Angelina Jolie, interviewed Geetanjali for the TIME magazine. Geetanjali's inventions related to the identification of contaminated, polluted water and use of artificial intelligence-based technology for online cyber bullying in a defamatory way. She had named the technology, Kiindly. It has the capacity to identify cyber bullying in the initial stages of conversations in the websites. Geetanjali has been inclined to undertake many such inventions in near future.

    How come Indians settled abroad particularly in US r recognised for their hard work eg Google, Microsoft Pepsi,. I think because of the wro g reservation policy I dua suffers the pain of Brain Drain. It is now high time to consider the present reservation policy which is cast /religion based. Instead reservation should go to deserving economically weaker section of the society. And all reservation should be merit based

    Probably our leaders are main reason for the brain drain. There are no opportunities in India for highly skilled people and we are happy with 'jugad' instead of world class technology. As long as our priorities are statues and mandir's even god can't help us!

    Just think reasonably. Parents of this girl have migrated to US before 2014 as this girl is 15 years old and born in US. Just don't comment for the sake of commenting. Ur khangress extended the reservation which was Intially for just 10 years from 1947.
