Mangaluru, Dec 5: International magazine, 'TIME' has, for the first time, introduced the 'Kid of the Year' award this year. Young scientist of Indian origin, Geetanjali Rao, has been picked for the coveted honour this year. Geetanjali is a Mangalurean settled in Denver, Colorado, USA.
Geetanjali happens to be the daughter of Rama Rao and Bharathi couple from Mangaluru. The researches of Geetanjali have scored over more than 5,000 researches of Americans which were nominated for the said award.
Popular Hollywood actress, Angelina Jolie, interviewed Geetanjali for the TIME magazine. Geetanjali's inventions related to the identification of contaminated, polluted water and use of artificial intelligence-based technology for online cyber bullying in a defamatory way. She had named the technology, Kiindly. It has the capacity to identify cyber bullying in the initial stages of conversations in the websites. Geetanjali has been inclined to undertake many such inventions in near future.
