Lacklustre response to Karnataka bandh in Udupi

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (JD/MS)

Udupi, Dec 5: The bandh call given by pro-Kannada organizations did not have any impact on the normal day to day life in the district on Saturday December 5.

All the buses are plying as usual. Business establishments have also opened and conducting business.

So far, no local pro-Kannada organizations have supported the bandh call.

Pro-Kannada organizations under the leadership of Kannada activist Vatal Nagaraj had called for a state-wide bandh on Saturday December 5 in protest against the proposed formation of Maratha Development authority announced by chief minister B S Yediyurappa.

Tulunadu should not support any pro-war kannada movements. There should be pro Tuluva movemets. We must fight against the imposition of kannada on us and form Tulunadu State.

Sounds similar to the CAA protest. Some or most are only for instigating others to get on to the streets by when they time comes, they prefer to be 'lions of the internet' .
