London, May 21 (IANS): Argentina coach Diego Maradona's fractious relationship with the media continued as he ran over a journalist in Buenos Aires Wednesday and then added insult to injury by swearing at him.
While driving to a news conference to announce his World Cup squad, Maradona's Mini was surrounded by newsmen, but one was hit and he fell to the ground.
The Daily Telegraph quoted witnesses as saying that Maradona's car then rolled over the lower part of the journalist's leg.
After running over the journalist, the Argentina manager stopped to say: "What an ***hole you are. How can you put your leg there where it can get run over, man?"
Paramedics then ran to the scene to attend to the cameraman who was taken away for treatment.
Maradona has had a troubled relationship with the press in the past, once firing shots from an air-rifle to clear members of the media from outside his home.
