Udupi, Dec 2: Former Udupi MLA Pramod Madhwaraj on Wednesday, December 2 met with KPCC president D K Shivakumar at KPCC office in Queens Road, Bengaluru.
The KPCC chief had recently visited Udupi and the absence of Pramod Madhwaraj in the party conference was chiefly highlighted.
As per sources, the party leaders discussed the reconstruction of the party and preparations to be undertaken for the upcoming gram panchayat elections. Other leaders of the district Congress will also be called to discuss matters of relevance soon. A Udupi block Congress meeting was also called by Pramod Madhwaraj which possibly can be an indication of his return to the party.
Speaking exclusively with Daijiworld, Pramod Madhwaraj said, "I had been to Bengaluru for personal work and Shivakumar had called me and asked me to meet him. We both have shared a good camaraderie for a decade so my visit to the KPCC office was a casual visit."
Regarding the plea submitted by party workers to the KPCC chief, Madhwaraj said, "I have no idea what the workers have told Shivakumar. In general, many issues related to international, national, state, district and local matters were discussed. Recently, I had also called a meeting to discuss strategies for the upcoming gram panchayat elections in the Udupi constituency."
The party workers were reportedly quite curious regarding the outcome of the meeting that was held between the KPCC chief and the former Udupi MLA.
