Bantwal, Dec 2: Thieves entered a house at Parlottu, Neralakatte near Mani in the taluk and stole gold ornaments worth several lacs of rupees on Monday night.
The theft happened in the house of Ummer Farooq, a resident of Parlottu. The theft came to light on Tuesday December 1 morning. The family members were asleep when the thieves entered their house from the rear door.
The family members saw in the morning after opening the front door that an empty box was discarded there. The box reportedly contained an 80 gram golden necklace, two gold bangles weighting 60 sovereigns, a mobile phone and cash.
