The proposal of recommending name to the airport should go through gram panchayat, zilla panchayat then to state government which will later be sent to the central government. This is the process that should be followed.
"Now we are planning to take up a bike rally on December 7 from Kudroli temple to Bajpe airport demanding to rename Mangaluru International Airport to Koti Chennaya Airport where several other organizations will join hands demanding the same.
"The legal process has been done in the name of Koti Chennaya, while the file is still pending with the state government. So measures should be taken to rename the airport to Koti Chennaya airport," he said.
