Mangaluru, Nov 29: MLA and former minister U T Khader on Sunday November 29 strongly condemned the provocative graffitis that appeared on walls in two different parts of the city this week.
In two separate incidents reported on Friday November 27 and Sunday, graffiti in support of terror organisations LeT and Taliban, and threat of beheading, appeared on the walls of an apartment complex and in court premises here, respectively.
Addressing a press meet at the Circuit House here, Khader said, "We strongly condemn the writing of graffiti on walls in the city. No matter who is doing this, it should not be tolerated. The responsibility of identifying the culprits is of the BJP government and the police department.
"People who are supporting such hooligans should be caught and the ploy has to be brought to light. What is the intelligence department doing? Why are these incidents getting repeated? The people who have written such graffiti should be identified and be deported to other countries. They do not have the right to live in this country," he said.
"In Dakshina Kannada district, a situation has evolved where people are not scared of law and order. When Congress government was ruling, incidents such as wall graffiti etc did not occur. Whenever BJP comes to power, anti-social elements get courage. The MP and MLAs of the district have to answer this query," he added.
"I will bring this to the notice of the home minister and the chief minister. The culprits should be identified within a week. If the culprits are not arrested within 15 days, then we will start intense protest throughout the district," he warned.
"Whether those culprits are mentally sick or not, arrest them. Are the central and state governments not responsible for this? The state government is in a state of coma at present," Khader said.
