Mangalore, May 13: As per a complaint lodged with the city police, a youth named Danish (21), son of M A A Harris, a PWD contractor, went missing along with Rs 25 lac in cash on Tuesday May 11.
It is said that Danish, who collected cash from the house of Mohammed Ali residing behind Violet Complex in Balmatta in the city at around 1.30 pm on Tuesday, was not seen thereafter. Reportedly, Mohammed Kunhi had handed over a bundle of currency notes to Naseema, wife of Mohammed Ali, on Tuesday afternoon. He has informed that the bundle contained cash amounting to Rs 25 lac, and that the packet has to be handed over to Danish from Kassargod.
Danish, son of Mohammed Ali’s brother-in-law, came in an Innova car, approached Naseema and collected the cash. He was expected to go to PWD office and meet a person named Mohammed Kunhi there. It is gathered that Danish bought a Sim card from Manipal after about three hours since he went missing. After a search launched to find Danish out proved futile,, Mohammed Ali registered a complaint at Kadri police station about the incident, on Wednesday May 12.
The policemen of Kadri police station have requested the people to convey to them any information they might be having about Danish, whose complexion is white, who can speak in Malayalam and English, and who was wearing black T-shirt and blue pants at the time he went missing.
