Bangalore: SSLC Result – Disappointed Students End Lives

Bangalore, May 7: Three students from the state chose to end their lives for failing in the SSLC examination, while the fourth one committed suicide, having been disappointed at getting marks less than she expected, in the examination.

Pooja (16), a student of Matrumandali School in Mysore, and resident of Belagola in Srirangapatna district, who returned home weeping after seeing the results, soaked her body with kerosene, before setting herself on fire. Manjaiah Kalaiah Hiremutt (16) from Hirenandihalli in Byadagi taluk also resorted to this method to commit suicide.

Anand Poojary (16), a resident of Waghwade Cross in Macche village in Belgaum taluk, a student of a private school in Tilakwadi Belgaum, chose to give vent to his frustration by hanging himself. Hema (16) a student of Paper Town High School in Bhadravati, distraught at not getting first class marks consumed rice mixed with poison to kill herself. She had passed in second class, it is learnt.

    In the materialistic world, spritual values are deteriorated. Going to church and temple is become aphychological need. Every parent thinks what others will think if my child does badly and pressurize the child without knowing its ability which brings end to the precious life gifed by God.parents wake up, respect life.

    My sincere condolonces to the families who have lost their dear ones, eduacation has become a race and parents also part of that, it is natural that a loser may tend to dissappoint, we need to change the mind set of the student that losing is not end of the world but it is a new begining, also I have noticed first time a comment without pseudo word from nagoo, doesn't look nice when nagoo comments on other issues. this rotten mind is suitable to sing only one song ie. pseudo n bjp

    Ending lives for securing less marks or failure is the defective culture of Indian society, where most of the parents fail to understand the real interest of their children,but want satisfy their ego by competing with others

    Shame on the parents who do not teach thier children the basic fact that failing in exams is not failing in life.As parents we sholud remind our children that there is another cahnace when youfail but when you take your life you leave behind a disatrous trail.

    oh my god! i am feeling very sad about this. I think to prevent such things from happenig the parents should encourage their children by giving advice such as failing in the class is not end of the world. There are many oprtunities. Students can reattempt and gain good marks next time. 'Sole geluvina mettilu'. If you failed in class then it is not a failure but it you commited suside then your life is a failure. Please think, think think. When one door closes for you there is always other door opens. try the new door. do not commit suside please please please.

    VERY SAD NEWS . PARENTS ATTITUDE AS WELL AS COWARDNESS OF STUDENT RESULTS IN SUICIDE.

    PARENTS SHOULD ALWAYS GIVE FULL MORAL SUPPORT IN SUCH SITUATION.

    Parents are to be blamed for this disaster. Everyone wants their child to be No. 1 and they put excessive pressure on children. They never look at the capability of the child instead simply want their son/daugher to be first class/rank and so on. It is high time parents realise their mistake and save innocent lives.
