Kundapur, May 7: BJP state unit president, K S Eshwarappa, exuded confidence that the recent incidents and the vilely campaign launched by vested interests against the BJP will not have any negative effect on the chances of the BJP in the gram panchayat elections. He was interacting with the media men during his visit to Lord Siddhivinayaka temple in Kumbashi Anegudde near here on Thursday May 6.
“Confusions, insinuations, wrongful campaigns etc., are part and parcel of politics. People may get interested in them for some time, before eventually forgetting them after a few days. Unlike such things, development initiatives succeed in etching out a permanent place for themselves in the memories of the people. BJP is confident that its achievements on development front will keep it in good stead at the hustings. We are sure that the candidates supported by the party will get elected in large numbers,” he added.
He recalled that the party had registered impressive wins in the assembly, Lok Sabha, legislative council and Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike elections. “The party is sure to continue with its saga of success in the gram panchayat elections,” he asserted.
Managing trustee of the temple, K Sooryanarayana Upadhyaya, temple priest, Vyasa Upadhyaya, Haridas Upadhyaya, and manager, Anandarama Ural, were present. The absence of prominent BJP leaders from the taluk like MLA, Halady Srinivas Shetty, MLC, Kota Srinivas Poojary, and block committee president, B Kishore Kumar, was conspicuous.
