Udupi, May 7: Vice president of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Dr S Krishnamurty, said that the Indian Red Cross Society is very much interested to extend its services to the rural people. He noted that by doing so, the Red Cross will be extending services to the people living in the villages, who are very much in need of specialized services.
He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for the Blood Bank and Rehabilitation Centre being built at Vasundhara Nagar at Santekatte near here on Thursday May 6, in association with Gokul Hosital and Srikrishna Charitable Trust.
“Our organization has a long history and rich experience. “The Red Cross is raring to provide good services at this plot, given to it by way of donation. The government is prepared to extend every support needed for the same,” he added.
T V Rao, chairman of Hitech Medicare Hospital, presided, Ambalpady temple trustee, Dr N Vijay Ballal, IRCS Karnataka president, Dr S B Kulkarni, secretary, Dr N G Narayan, Dr Sharat Rao of the district unit of IRCS, K R Devadiga and others were present.
Udupi IRCS president, Basrur Rajeev Shetty, welcomed. Sainath proposed vote of thanks.
